PostCrossing Update #1 (07.12.13.)

Hey everyone,

Today I wanted to share with you the beautiful postcards I have received this past month. For those of you who missed my PostCrossing post (one too many posts in that sentence), check it out and it'll fill you in. In short I am a member of a postcard exchange program that allows me to connect with people from all over the world. The best part is that I never know where my postcards will be coming from, so checking the mailbox is incredibly thrilling. Picture me running down the hall screaming, "J! This one is from China! Look! Look!"..."Very nice dear." I wanted to share both the front AND the back with you as I think a large part of the fun is seeing what other people have to say and seeing all the cool stamps.
Look guys! Look!:
(CANADA...This one actually came about via Instagram! She contacted me and asked me if I would be interested in swapping.)

(USA...this is the other one that came about via Instagram. She asked me if I would be interested in doing a swap and I am so glad I did! I adore this vintage style card!)

(UKRAINE)

(FINLAND)

(GERMANY)

(NETHERLANDS)

(BELGIUM)
(Funny thing is... J and I ARE planning on visiting there next year! I'll make sure to try the chocolate!)
(FINLAND)

(ENGLAND...This lady didn't write me anything...tisk tisk)
(CZECH REPUBLIC)

(GERMANY)

(ITALY)

(GERMANY)

And that is everything I have received over the past month. I strongly urge you all to check out PostCrossing.com and sign up! It's the most amazing thing to be able to connect with people from all over the world. To have the opportunity to learn about different places and the people that make it special. Also great for getting ideas for when you travel! Best part is there are no fees to be part of the program! The only cost to you is the postcard and the stamp!

Now if you'll excuse me I think I hear the mail lady at the door... no seriously I swear I just heard my mailbox lid squeak shut! Like Christmas I tell you!

Love and hugs,
Erin xx

Daily Tidbits:
  • Went for "coffee" (I had strawberry lemonade... YUM!) this morning with a dear old friend from uni. I had a beautiful time snuggled up in the cozy armchairs exchanging stories. PLEASE check out her amazing blog, this girl is so inspiring: http://georgiatryingsomethingnew.blogspot.ca/
  • All I want to do is lay out in the sun and drink it all in... but alas, work calls!
  • I told you I heard the mail lady!... Just received a post card from Germany! Keep an eye out for it in my next PostCrossing update.

    1. Yay! I am so happy to hear I've inspired you! It really is so fantastic and great fun. Don't wait until your daughter is older, set her up an account now! I sent a postcard to a little 1yr old baby girl named River in the UK this past month. Her mum is decorating her nursery wall with all the postcards people write to her. I thought that was such a beautiful idea.

  2. Oh my god, I love the idea of this! It sounds like something out of a movie/book, and it certainly makes going to the mailbox more interesting/fun!

    1. You're so right Vanessa, it really does sound like something from a movie or book. It's very romantic to put pen to paper and write to someone. It always puts a smile on my face when I find one in my mailbox.
